coeur de pirate (for all you non-francophones it means heart of pirate) is this sassy little french-canadian singer who belts out sultry lyrics en francais. think adele + norah jones + yelle. in case you are living under a rock all three female musicians were/are breakout artists and coeur de pirate is, in my eyes, our next big thing. sure, sure her big hit at the moment, comme des enfants is completely in french but she does a killer rendition of rhianna’s “umbrella” and i think, with a sick DJ she could be known for her dance-inducing jams. i am making it my personal mission to blow this chick up stateside cAPSLOCK style. stay tuned.*
